Grants for the Common Good of up to $20,000 per organization are awarded annually on a competitive basis to nonprofit organizations working in any of the Foundation's five focus areas. See the current grant timeline here.

Grants address the five focus areas of the foundation's mission.

Addressing the root causes of poverty

Includes conditions or inequities such as illiteracy, teen pregnancy, poor parenting, or catastrophic life events.

Meeting basic human needs

Includes subsistence needs such as food, clean water and sanitation, shelter, health care, safety, and clothing.

Encouraging positive youth development

Includes access to opportunities, programs, and resources that help youth reach their full potential.

Promoting economic vitality

Promoting economic vitality includes opportunities for asset-building such as fair lending practices, access to transportation, or new business development.

Preserving the environment

Preserving the environment includes the protection, preservation, management or restoration of natural resources.
